After small-scale and pilot-scale tests, the project steadily produced lithium chloride solution with a purity of 99.9%. In the first phase of the project, the production line of 5000 tons of high-purity lithium chloride and 12500 tons of refined boric acid was successfully put into production, marking a new breakthrough in the production process of extracting lithium from salt lakes. The goal of building a 100 billion yuan lithium industry cluster in the Chaidamu Circular economy Experimental Zone has taken another solid step forward.

Relying on the resources of Dachaidan Salt Lake, Qinghai Chaidamu Xinghua Lithium Salt Co., Ltd. has invested 647 million yuan and implemented a project with an annual output of 10, 000 tons of high-purity lithium chloride and 25000 tons of refined boric acid, which has been listed as a key scientific and technological innovation project in Qinghai Province. According to the characteristics of high mg / Li ratio resources in Dachaidan Salt Lake, the advanced cascade extraction technology is adopted, and the box cascade extraction tank is applied to the industrial lithium extraction industry for the first time, which effectively solves the worldwide problem of extracting high purity lithium chloride from high mg / Li ratio salt lake.
The project commissioned Beijing Mining and Metallurgical Research Institute to carry out the overall design, invited well-known experts in the industry to act as technical advisers, quickly set up a technical team, independently developed four types of new and efficient extractants, and applied for four national invention patents. At the same time, the existing process was improved and two national invention patents were applied. In May this year, the company set up a pilot production line with an annual output of 100 tons of lithium chloride. After 7 months of continuous operation, the production line has the characteristics of advanced process route, stable product quality, wide adaptation of raw materials, low production cost, transformation and expansion, etc., which has laid a solid technical support and guarantee for realizing large-scale industrial production of high purity lithium chloride.
Since the construction in July last year, according to the idea of "no mistakes" in R & D and plant construction, the plant construction has selected the new PSP energy-saving and environmental protection materials, carefully organized the construction and accelerated the construction progress, and the first phase of the project production line has been completed in only half a year.
